National Hydrogen policy was welcomed by the renewable energy companies. The policy, according to Mr. Manoj K Upadhyay, founder and chairman of the ACME Group, is the first concrete move toward creating a favorable regulatory and enabling environment for India's green hydrogen and ammonia sector. He also stated that the government has addressed the industry’s primary request in terms of open access, grid finance, and faster approvals for green hydrogen and ammonia projects.

Mr. Mayank Bhansal ReNew Power Chief Commercial Office said that, the policy is a good step in the right direction of India’s goal to achieve a net-zero economy by 2070. He also added that manufacturing green hydrogen is now an expensive proposition, and the government has appropriately canceled inter-state transmission tariffs for a period of 25 years, which will assist in lowering the cost of green hydrogen. The government has also authorized 30-day power banking, which will aid in the better usage of capital-intensive electrolyzer assets.
