The total installed capacity of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), India's largest integrated power generator, reached 73,024 megawatt (MW). This includes 15,986 MW of plants owned by NTPC's subsidiaries and joint ventures and 57,038 MW of NTPC's installed capacity of power plants.
With the commissioning of Unit-2 of Stage-I (3 x 660 MW) of the Barh Super Thermal Power Project in Bihar, the group's combined capacity surpassed 73 GW.
This includes 39 stations by joint ventures and subsidiaries (9 coal based, 4 gas based, 8 hydro and 18 Renewable Energy based stations) and 50 NTPC Stations (26 coal based, 7 gas based, 1 hydro station, 16 Renewable Energy based stations).
The success strengthens NTPC's dedication to provide the Nation with affordable and dependable power. In addition, the corporation pledges to reach 60,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.
