Investment of Rs 7,243 cr done under fishery scheme PMMSY; govt launches dashboard

The government announced the launch of a dashboard for the Padhan Mantri Matsya Samapada Yojana (PMMSY) on June 9, with a total investment of Rs. 7,242.90 crore (US$ 931.75 million) over the last two years.

The dashboard aims to effectively monitor PMMSY activities and their progress in all participating states. It also helps strategically utilise the information for informed decision making. The information is further used for coordination, gap analysis and corrective action requirements.

PMMSY, launched in May 2020, is a flagship scheme for the focused and sustainable development of the country's fisheries sector, with an estimated investment of Rs. 20,050 crore (US$ 2.58 billion) for its implementation over five years, from 2020-21 to 2024-25.
