ISRO earns US$ 279 million in foreign exchange through satellite launches

Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh informed the Lok Sabha that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had generated US$ 279 million dollars in foreign money by launching satellites for worldwide clients through its commercial branches. He stated in a written response to a question that ISRO, in collaboration with its commercial arms, successfully launched 345 foreign satellites from 34 nations onboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).

ISRO's PSLV-C53 mission successfully launched three Singapore client satellites, DS-EO, NeuSAR, and SCOOB-1. According to him, the PSLV-C53 was the second dedicated commercial mission for NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), a Central Public Sector Enterprise administered by the Department of Space (DOS).
