The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said that it will launch 36 satellites for the UK’s worldwide communications network OneWeb later this month onboard its heaviest launcher, the LVM3 or Launch Vehicle Mark III. The satellites will be launched by the ISRO as part of the 'OneWeb India-1 mission/ LVM3 M2,' which will mark LVM3's entry into the worldwide commercial launch service market. ISRO's commercial subsidiary, NewSpace India Limited, has inked two contracts with OneWeb for the launch of low Earth orbit (LEO) broadband communication satellites.

The deal calls for 36 satellites to be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota and placed into orbit by one LVM3, according to the space agency. ISRO stated that the integration of the launch vehicle's cryogenic upper stage, as well as the integration of the payload fairing with 36 satellites, will take place in the following days. The launch is scheduled for the third or fourth week of October.
