Italy–India Business Forum 2025 strengthens bilateral trade, innovation, and strategic economic partnership

The Italy-India Business Forum 2025, held in Mumbai during an official visit by Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, is seen as a crucial step towards enhancing bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries. Through this forum, senior officials from both governments, several industry associations, and over 150 companies came together to collaborate and establish stronger ties across key business sectors, including automotive, waste-to-energy, renewable energy technologies, agri-foods, sports technology, and connectivity. Over the course of the event, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, met with Deputy Prime Minister Tajani to discuss ways to improve trade between the two nations, build more resilient supply chains, and establish collaborative partnerships in clean mobility, advanced manufacturing, and green energy production. Additionally, the forum included sector-based roundtables and pitch sessions that encouraged structured communication among industry participants, creating opportunities for joint ventures, co-development projects, research and development partnerships, and activities that integrate the value chains of both countries.
As part of this initiative, discussions were held with many prominent Indian unicorns to identify potential areas for collaboration in artificial intelligence, deep technology, financial technology, digital innovation, and industrial technologies. A key outcome of the Forum was the signing of the Agreed Minutes of the 22nd India-Italy Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation (JCEC), which provides a well-defined roadmap for future cooperation.
