Jammu and Kashmir is emerging as agri start-up hub: Dr Jitendra Singh

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted Jammu and Kashmir's emergence as an agricultural start-up hub, particularly in Bhaderwah, where lavender cultivation has flourished. The Republic Day tableau at Kartavya Path showcased Bhaderwah's lavender farms, symbolizing its national recognition and inspiring similar initiatives in other Himalayan states. Dr. Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's support for this agricultural innovation, as evidenced by his mention of the Aroma Mission during a "Mann Ki Baat" broadcast. Over 3,000 lavender entrepreneurs in Bhaderwah contribute to India's economy, reflecting PM Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047.

Addressing a Kisan Sammelan in Kathua, Dr. Singh commended the replication of Bhaderwah's success in other states and encouraged youth participation in agricultural start-ups, aligning with initiatives like Start-up India. He also highlighted measures for the safety of residents in border areas, including bunker construction and improved road connectivity, showcasing the government's commitment to comprehensive development and welfare.
