India’s Information Technology and Enabled Services (ITeS) sector is expected to witness a 20% increase in job opportunities in 2025, driven by the adoption of emerging technologies and the rise of remote work models, according to the Instahyre Tech Salary Index 2025. Based on insights from 42,000 anonymised candidate profiles and 11,000 recruiter interactions, the report highlights that demand for roles in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and cloud computing is set to surge by 75%. The gig economy and remote work trends will contribute 10% to overall sector growth, with 40% of the workforce requiring upskilling to stay competitive.

The report also indicates shifts in salary trends across experience levels. DevOps professionals with Amazon Web Services (AWS) expertise have seen 10% salary hikes. At the same time, frontend developers with up to five years of experience faced a decline of Rs. 1.5 lakh per annum (LPA) (US$ 1,750.84). However, experienced frontend developers (six plus years) saw an increase of Rs. 4 (US$ 4,668.90) LPA. Python remains the highest-paying backend skill, with salaries doubling every five years of experience. In comparison, Java salaries have increased fivefold for professionals with over 10 years of experience. Bengaluru continues to be the top tech talent hub, accounting for 35% of India’s tech workforce, followed by Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad (20% each), Pune (15%), and Chennai (10%). Tier-2 cities like Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Indore are also emerging as new technology hubs, particularly for AI and cybersecurity roles.
