GU and its colleges will send B.Tech./M.Tech./B.E./M.E./B.Sc./M.Sc./MA/Ph.D. students to a BITS Pilani campus. This MoU will facilitate providing GU students an opportunity to explore the option of undertaking a research project at BITS Pilani and be considered for admission to the PhD programme at BITS Pilani.
Professor Suman Kundu, Director, BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, stated that the campus understands the value and relevance of academic collaborations, and the partnership with Goa University is a significant step towards providing students with the right exposure to research subjects and diverse faculty support. This collaboration will set a new benchmark for higher education research capabilities for students in India, paving the way for better research and citation. The collaboration in the local context will create a significant platform for students in Goa to nurture their skills and learn from each other.
According to Professor Harilal B. The strategic alliance aims to improve educational possibilities concurrently with the National Education Policy (NEP)-based curriculum, which the university has already implemented at the undergraduate and graduate levels throughout the state of Goa. Additionally, BITS Pilani resource individuals with expertise in the technology domain will be added to the research centre the university is building. He has also said that this will inspire professors to pursue cooperative Research and Development (R&D) initiatives and dual PhD programmes.
This MoU will also bring within its ambit all the 64 affiliated colleges governed by Goa University.
