Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) has secured an ‘ultramega’ order worth more than Rs. 15,000 crore (US$ 1.57 billion) from a Middle East client for the development of multiple offshore facilities. The order has been secured by L&T’s Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore unit and covers engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of offshore facilities. A significant portion of the fabrication activities will be undertaken at L&T’s integrated manufacturing and fabrication facilities, supporting the company’s engineering and project execution capabilities. The project is among the significant offshore developments currently underway in the Middle East and comes amid increasing investments aimed at meeting future energy demand. L&T’s offshore business has experience in executing complex projects across global markets, including fixed platforms, subsea pipelines and structures, brownfield upgrades and modifications, deep-water subsea structures and pipelines and decommissioning programmes.

The scale and complexity of the project are expected to leverage L&T’s engineering expertise, integrated project execution capabilities and coordination across multiple workstreams. The order also strengthens the company’s presence in the Middle East’s offshore energy infrastructure segment and reinforces its ability to execute large-scale international projects. The substantial fabrication component to be undertaken at L&T’s facilities is expected to support utilisation of its domestic manufacturing and fabrication capabilities while contributing to the company’s broader engineering and energy hydrocarbon operations. The project reflects continued investment in offshore infrastructure to support future energy requirements and highlights opportunities for Indian engineering and construction companies in international markets. L&T’s experience across offshore development, subsea infrastructure and brownfield projects positions its Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore business to undertake complex EPCIC assignments across global energy markets.
