On Wednesday, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) engineering and construction conglomerate (L&T) said it introduced "Planet L&T", a digitally enabled corporate experience centre that offers an interactive experience across 12 high-tech zones.
It said that "Elle" and "Tee" robots guide visitors to Planet L&T, symbolising L&T's priority on state-of-the-art tech interactions.
L&T, India's leading company of engineering, procurement and construction projects, manufacturing, security, and services, led to the advent to " Planet L&T," its evolving new digitally activated corporate experience centre.
The centre is placed over close to 10,500 square feet at its newly built "A M Naik Tower" in Powai, Mumbai.
Planet L&T provides visitors with an interactive experience of the history of the company over eight decades and an insight into how technology is shaping the world.
Mr. S N Subrahmanyan, CEO & MD, Larsen & Toubro, said, “Planet L&T is a testament to the legacy created over the past eight decades by the community... It is consistent with our continued emphasis on digitalization and future-oriented, disruptive technology adoption. It will play a significant role in continuing to narrate the tales of L&T that influenced our nation and the world.”
The centre is divided into 12 main areas that allow visitors to take the tour or concentrate on specific aspects of the history, present, and future of L&T.
In the entrance lobby, where "Elle" and 'Tee', robotic hosts, greet and direct visitors to the first area, the Welcome Dome, a short film displayed on a mini-planetarium-style screen, welcomes guests to Planet L&T and demonstrates the concept of the experience centre, the emphasis on technology is seen up front.
The 'Planet L&T' tour starts with one of the corporate storytellers taking the guests to the " Milestones Zone," where the history of L&T is brought to life by an interactive screen.
The next area, "Legacy of Leadership," involves the legacy of its excellent leaders, starting with the founders moving up to the current leadership.
"The Nationalist," as the chairman of L&T, Mr. AM Naik, is commonly referred to, is an area that features the transformative journey on which Mr. Naik took L&T, the company said.
The "Into the Future" area helps tourists to find out how L&T is using new technology.
A peek into key technologies implemented by L&T is provided by the " Deep Dive " region. The company said an 8-foot digital table demonstrates how, through specific technology, the company makes things quicker, safer, and more cost-effective.
Larsen & Toubro is an Indian multinational with revenue of over US$ 21 billion engaged in engineering, procurement and construction projects, manufacturing, defence and services. It operates in more than thirty countries.
