The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has launched an integrated Performance Monitoring Dashboard to track infrastructure performance across key sectors, strengthening data-driven governance in India. This initiative builds on the PAIMANA (Project Assessment, Infrastructure Monitoring & Analytics for Nation-building) framework, operationalised on September 25, 2025, replacing the earlier Online Computerized Monitoring system (OCMS). The dashboard monitors infrastructure across 11 sectors using 116 indicators, covering areas such as power, roads, railways, telecommunications, civil aviation and ports. The updated framework moves beyond traditional output-based assessment to a more comprehensive evaluation based on accessibility, quality, utilisation, affordability and financial efficiency, enabling more informed policymaking and targeted interventions.
The dashboard highlights strong performance trends across sectors. In civil aviation, passenger traffic reached 20.2 crore with steady growth, while cargo volumes also increased, reflecting sustained demand. The power sector maintained high capacity utilisation and near-total peak demand fulfilment, indicating grid reliability. Telecommunications witnessed expansion with 8.48 lakh towers and improved tele-density, enhancing digital connectivity. Meanwhile, road transport saw rising adoption of digital tolling, with electronic transactions increasing significantly. Railways reported improved operational efficiency while ports and waterways recorded growth in capacity and waterway infrastructure, supporting multimodal connectivity. Overall, the initiative enhances transparency, efficiency and accountability in infrastructure monitoring, reinforcing India’s push towards sustainable and inclusive infrastructure development through technology-enabled governance.
