Luxembourg Minister of Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism Mr. Lex Delles Calls on Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Proposes Identifying Concrete Areas of Collaboration, primarily in the Space Sector

Mr. Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, Government of Luxembourg, called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences and Minister of State for the Department of Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh, proposing concrete areas of collaboration primarily in the Space sector, along with Artificial Intelligence, quantum technologies, advanced materials and life sciences, ahead of Luxembourg's proposed State Visit to India in January 2027. Dr. Jitendra Singh said the strong foundation of India-Luxembourg relations offers a favourable basis for deeper cooperation, referring to the virtual meeting between Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and his Luxembourg counterpart in 2020. He noted that Space remains an important pillar of the partnership, underpinned by a 2022 MoU on peaceful use of outer space, satellite transponder leasing and the launch of two Luxembourg satellites on PSLV, alongside India's long-term ambitions of an Indian space station by 2035 and a human Moon landing by 2040.

The two sides identified opportunities in Earth Observation imagery, communication transponders, satellite realisation and launch vehicle services, with Luxembourg-based companies including SES already engaging with Indian entities and IN-SPACe. Dr. Jitendra Singh also discussed India's efforts in computing capacity, GPUs and indigenous large language models, while Luxembourg shared plans for a new AI-oriented high-performance computing facility. Quantum technologies, India's National Quantum Mission and life sciences collaboration under India's BioE3 policy, including with the Luxembourg Institute of Health, were also discussed. Mr. Lex Delles highlighted Luxembourg's growing engagement with India across space, AI, cybersecurity and high-performance computing, with both sides agreeing to develop specific proposals ahead of the January 2027 State Visit.
