Mahindra Logistics has collaborated with 1Bridge, a Bengaluru-based social enterprise and the largest village trade network, for last-mile delivery in the country's rural areas. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) with 1Bridge has been signed by Mahindra Logistics to this effect, the company said on Wednesday.

Under the partnership, the two companies are seeking to expand last-mile distribution capacity for over 1,00,000 villages in the region, over the next three years. In Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, the two companies have started pilot projects on deliveries of consumer/home appliances and groceries, it said.

Mr. Rampraveen Swaminathan, MD & CEO, Mahindra Logistics, said, “This partnership would complement MLL's logistical experience, pan-India network and a strong customer base with the deep presence of 1Bridge through its network of local business associates and district-level stations across villages in rural India. In rural India, we look forward to collaborating towards a reinforced supply chain network.

Mr. Madan Padaki, CEO, 1Bridge, said, “In six states, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha, 1Bridge has operations spanning more than 6,000 villages across 65 districts. We are pleased to partner with Mahindra Logistics, as this will allow us to develop quickly and provide the village customers with better user experience.”

Mahindra Logistics provides services in supply chain management and serves customers across various sectors including consumer goods and e-commerce globally.

1Bridge serves as a bridge connecting the supply side of the value chain through its village entrepreneurs and a technology platform to the demand side.
