Under the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbharNidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme, digital onboarding and training of street vendors (SVs) is an integral part. As per instructions given to Lending Institutions (LIs), they should issue a durable QR Code & UPI ID at the time of disbursement and in the conduct of digital transactions, train the beneficiaries.
Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) collaborated to launch ‘Main Bhi Digital 3.0’ from 9th September to 30th November, 2021, to give further impetus to the digital onboarding and training of beneficiaries as well as to complement the efforts of LIs in the adoption of digital transactions by the PM SVANidhi beneficiaries.
The "Main Bhi Digital 3.0" campaign aims to digitally onboard Street Vendors (SVs) who have previously received loans through the PM SVANidhi Scheme.
For the implementation of this scheme, an integrated IT platform has been developed and the entire application process is online. Through the PM SVANidhiPortal, SVs can directly apply for a loan. Municipal offices and Common Service Centers are also accepting applications (CSCs). SVs can also approach municipal officials or representatives of Lending Institutions to apply for loans through the PM SVANidhi mobile app.
All street vendors across the country, including those from the Dahod tribal area, who are engaged in vending in urban areas on or before 24th March, 2020, are eligible for the PM SVANidhi Scheme. Out of the 868 beneficiaries of the scheme in Gujarat's Dahod Municipality, 337 are from the Scheduled Tribes category.
