Maruti Suzuki and Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to propel automobile & mobility startup innovation in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to promote and support startups developing technology-driven solutions in the automobile manufacturing and mobility sectors. Under this collaboration, startups recognised by DPIIT under the ‘Startup India’ initiative will gain access to Maruti Suzuki’s innovation programmes. Selected startups will benefit from expert mentorship, industry insights, and use of the company’s extensive network and infrastructure as a testbed for validating their solutions. This partnership also offers startups a platform to connect with incubators, accelerators, and investors, helping them showcase their innovations effectively.

Speaking on the initiative, Senior Executive Officer of Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki, Mr. Rahul Bharti, emphasised that India’s vibrant startup ecosystem can be further accelerated through this collaboration, which aligns with the Government’s ‘Startup India’ and ‘Make in India’ campaigns. The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials from both organisations, including Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Mr. Shri Sanjiv, who highlighted the agreement as a key step towards creating a robust platform for transforming startup ideas into market-ready mobility and manufacturing solutions. This partnership reinforces India’s leadership in next-generation industrial innovation, fostering growth and competitiveness in the automotive sector.
