Maruti Suzuki India Limited recorded its highest-ever annual production of 23.4 lakh units in FY26, marking a significant milestone in India’s automobile manufacturing sector. The company has become the first passenger vehicle manufacturer in India to achieve this scale of production, reflecting its strong manufacturing capabilities and sustained demand for its vehicles. The record output highlights the company’s ability to scale operations efficiently across its production facilities in Haryana and Gujarat, supported by robust domestic demand and expanding export markets.
The achievement is strategically significant as it underscores India’s growing position as a global automotive manufacturing hub, driven by large-scale production, supply chain integration and policy support such as the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. The strong production performance is aligned with rising demand for passenger vehicles, particularly in compact and utility vehicle segments, which continue to drive volume growth. The milestone also reflects improving operational efficiency, localisation of components and increasing integration into global value chains. Going forward, sustained demand, export expansion and continued investments in manufacturing capacity are expected to further strengthen India’s automotive sector and enhance its competitiveness in global markets.
