MEA, MoCI, MoE, MSDE jointly organise the first Virtual Global Skill Summit with Indian Missions of Ten Nations to build synergies towards fostering global skill mobility

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), Ministry of Education (MoE), and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) jointly organised the first Virtual Global Skill Summit (VGSS) today with the Indian Ambassadors/High Commission representing India Missions from ten nations. The goal was to facilitate the overseas mobility of the skilled workforce. The summit is main goal was to institutionalise a reliable system for exchanging data on India's skill availability and the skill requirements of other countries.

The Summit was co-chaired by Mr. Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, and Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

In line with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's vision, the government hopes to establish India as the world's leading hub for skilled and certified workers by positioning the nation as such. This will be accomplished by building world-class training infrastructure in the target nations, fostering international mobility, and fortifying partnerships with foreign nations in particular fields to increase job opportunities for young people.
