Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Ministry empowers Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) with Digital and E-Commerce support under Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP)

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has launched the ‘MSE TEAM (Trade Enablement and Marketing)’ initiative under the World Bank-supported Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme, aimed at empowering Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) with digital tools to enhance their e-commerce presence. The scheme focuses on integrating MSEs with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to expand their customer base and income, providing support in onboarding, digital cataloguing, account management, logistics, and packaging, alongside training and capacity building. The initiative targets 5,00,000 MSEs, of which 2,50,000 will be women-owned, with outreach activities prioritising tier-II and tier-III cities. Complementary platforms such as the Ministry’s eKhadi India portal, MSME Global Mart, and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) will play a key role in expanding market access for MSEs through B2B linkages, e-commerce sales, and government procurement opportunities.
The Ministry is also implementing the Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme, which facilitates MSE participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyers-sellers meets, while also subsidising the cost of onboarding on MSME Global Mart. The eKhadi India portal offers exclusive Khadi and Village Industries products, directly connecting artisans and weavers to consumers, and is integrated with GeM. The MSME Global Mart, operated by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), supports marketing efforts through features such as online visibility enhancement, trade leads, and tender information. GeM itself remains a unified government procurement platform, offering transparency and efficiency through features such as e-bidding and reverse auctions. Collectively, these initiatives are designed to strengthen MSME competitiveness, improve digital adoption, and enhance access to domestic and global markets.
