Ministry of Rural Development signs MoU with Reliance Retail’s JioMart, to on-board DAY-NRLM’s SHGs

The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JioMart, the retail arm of Reliance, as part of its initiatives to expand the reach of products created by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). This collaboration aims to empower rural artisans associated with SHGs.

During the event, Mr. Charanjit Singh, Additional Secretary of Rural Livelihoods at the Ministry of Rural Development, highlighted the significance of the collaboration. He stated that this partnership facilitates the onboarding of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) as sellers on the JioMart e-commerce platform. This strategic initiative aims to enhance the accessibility of products from SHGs associated with the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) under MoRD's SARAS collection to a broader consumer base. The alliance empowers SHGs to expand their market presence, increase visibility, and present their curated products to JioMart customers nationwide. As part of this collaboration, SHG sellers linked with DAY-NRLM will receive support and guidance to foster their online business growth.
