More than 18 lakh new workers were added under the ESI Scheme in the month of December 2022

According to the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESI Scheme) provisional payroll data, 18.03 lakh new employees have been added in December 2022, an increase of 14.52 lakh employees as compared to December 2021.

Under the ESI Corporation, 27,700 new establishments have been registered at the same time, ensuring social security for their employees. There are 8.30 lakh employees under the age of 25 out of the total 18.03 lakh new hires this month. It demonstrates that the nation's youth have access to employment opportunities. The Gender-wise analysis reveals that 3.44 lakh net female members were enrolled as of December 2022.

Moreover, a total of 80 transsexual employees registered under the ESI Plan in December, indicating benefits to every section of society.
