Over 30 crore labourers have registered on the e-Shram portal over the past three years; the government informed the Lok Sabha on Monday. During the Question Hour, Union Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary, stated that the number of registrations with the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has also increased significantly. He highlighted that in 2014-15, 15.84 crore individuals were registered, which rose to over 29 crore by 2023-24. The e-Shram portal aims to provide a comprehensive database of unorganised sector workers for targeted welfare schemes.

Speaker Mr. Om Birla urged ministers and members to concisely ask and respond to questions to cover all 20 listed questions during the session. He also expressed satisfaction over the active participation of new MPs, who were given opportunities to ask supplementary questions. He commended the quality of their queries.
