Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan and Union External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar jointly launched Study in India (SII) Portal in New Delhi, in line with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's vision of re-establishing India as a global hub of education.
On the occasion, students from Russia, Thailand, Japan, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Korea who are currently studying in India, presented souvenirs from their culture as a token of respect to dignitaries.
A specialised website, “Study in India Portal” will offer in-depth details about Indian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The website will illustrate academic programmes, including but not restricted to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral level programmes, as well as courses in the Indian Knowledge System, such as yoga, ayurveda, classical arts, etc. Information regarding academic facilities, research support, and related topics will be available on the website portal. The new website will now have the provision for students to apply to more than one institute/course of their choice. The new portal will provide an integrated one-stop solution for the student registration and visa application process.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan stated that SII Portal is a one-stop shop that will streamline the academic experience for foreign students in India. The SII Portal, which is inspired by the National Education Policy (NEP), demonstrates the dedication to making India a popular education destination and to erasing academic boundaries in order to create a successful future, he continued. The Study in India Portal would be a crucial step in making India a popular choice among students all over the world for higher education, according to him.
