Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan holds series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Mauritius, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Ghana, calls for strengthening cooperation in Education and Skilling

Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, held a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Mauritius, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Ghana, in New Delhi.

During his meeting with HE Mrs. Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, Vice PM and Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology of Mauritius, Mr. Pradhan stated that India and Mauritius have a special relationship that is forged by history, culture, language, and the Indian Ocean. He emphasised that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has given top priority to deepening bilateral relations with Mauritius. He assured Mauritius that India remains committed to working with them to build capacity in all areas of education and skill development. Mr. Pradhan went on to say that India will be honoured to work with Mauritius to establish it as an African and South-east Asian knowledge and skills hub.

Mr. Pradhan stated during a meeting with Zanzibar's Minister for Education and Vocational Training, HE Ms. Lela Muhamed Mussa, that India is pleased to assist Tanzania with the IIT project. Tanzania's IIT can serve as an African hub for technology education. He proposed the necessary funding for the project's implementation and expressed India's willingness to establish a 21st century skill centre in Zanzibar. He also stated that the NEP is opening up new educational opportunities in India. Mr. Pradhan extended an invitation to Tanzanian and African students to study in India. HE Ms. Leela Muhamad Musa assured of all necessary support to make education and skills cooperation more vibrant, as well as for Tanzania and Zanzibar's prosperity.
