Mr. Nitin Gadkari inaugurates and lays foundation stone of 3 NH projects worth Rs. 1,206 crore (US$ 147.46 million) in Siliguri, West Bengal

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, officially opened and laid the foundation stone for three NH projects worth Rs. 1,206 crore (US$ 147.46 million) in Siliguri, in the presence of MPs Mr. Raju Bisht and Mr. Jayant Kumar Roy, as well as Central & State Officials

Speaking to the crowd, Mr. Gadkari said the recently completed projects include a 2-lane ROB that will replace the level crossing at km 615.5 of NH-31 (Oodlabari) and greatly improve international connectivity, as well as a ROB that will replace the level crossing at kilometre 661.100 of NH-31 (Maynaguri). Because of the enhanced safety features, he claimed that accidents would be reduced, and travel distance and time would be reduced.

According to Mr. Gadkari, the growth of these projects will spur industrial and economic development in West Bengal as well as in eastern India, with notable gains in the agricultural sector.
