Mr. Nitin Gadkari lays foundation stones for eight National Highway Projects worth Rs. 3,000 crore (US$ 370.61 million) in Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh

On September 22, in Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stones for eight National Highway Projects totaling Rs. 3,000 crore (US$ 370.61 million).

In his remarks to the audience, Mr. Gadkari stated that once the projects are finished, they will provide green field road connectivity to Kakinada SEZ, SEZ Port, Fishing Harbour, and Kakinada Anchorage Port, which will facilitate the export of rice, sea food, oil meals, iron-ore, biofuel, granite, etc. through Kakinada Port.

The Minister stated that among the ongoing road projects is the construction of five flyovers at Kaikaram, Morampudi, Undarajavaram, Tetali, and Jonnada. Once these flyovers are finished, Namavaram, Satellite City, Mandapeta, Ramchandrapuram, Kakinada, Undarajavaram, Nidadavolu, Tanuku Town, and Kaikaram will all enjoy convenient and secure traffic flow. The correction of blackspots will be supported by special safety measures.
