Mr. Piyush Goyal discusses the roadmap to achieve the target of US$ 250 billion textiles production and exports of US$ 100 billion by 2030

Union Minister for Textiles, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Commerce and Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal presented the roadmap for reaching the aim of US$ 250 billion in textile production and US$ 100 billion in exports by 2030.

During his interactions with the officers and personnel at the Chintan Shivir hosted by the Ministry of Textiles, Mr. Goyal emphasised the importance of taking a comprehensive strategy to boost the textile industry's vitality and preparing it to face up against the international competition. He challenged the officers to come up with creative solutions and emphasised the significance of simplifying the institutional framework for better service delivery.

The event was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Textiles, Ms. Darshana Jardosh, who emphasised the importance of the textiles sector in the country's economic progress and the necessity for all stakeholders to work together to promote growth across all sectors of the value chain.

Group brainstorming sessions were held on five themes: promoting exports, investment-building size and scale, sustainability, shifting from natural to man-made fibre, and improving service delivery. The Team Building session, which was organised by Capacity Building Commission representatives, also gave an opportunity to improve communication and interaction among the participants. 

Mr. Gaur Gopal Das, lifestyle coach and motivational speaker, and Mr. Vivek Sahni, CEO and Co-Founder, Kama Ayurveda addressed the participants and shared their perspectives and experiences.
