According to Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles Mr. Piyush Goyal, the momentum between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is outstanding, with multiple opportunities for collaboration and increased investments in critical industries such as technology and infrastructure. Mr. Piyush Goyal and Mr. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi's Executive Council, co-chaired the 10th meeting of India and the UAE's high-level Joint Task Force on Investments.
The two delegations discussed the bilateral investment treaty negotiations between India and the UAE. There have been 12 rounds of negotiations in total. Both sides acknowledged that significant progress has been made since the negotiations began and reaffirmed their commitment to moving the process forward expeditiously in order to obtain a fair and beneficial agreement as soon as possible. The importance of increasing bilateral investment in key industries such as manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, and technology was also emphasised.
