Mr. S Jaishankar, Botswana FM hold talks on health, trade, investment

On Tuesday at Ektanagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, External Affairs Minister Mr. S Jaishankar met with his Botswana counterpart, Mr. Lemogang Kwape, to discuss trade, investment, defence, and training.

According to a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs, "During the meeting, both ministers reviewed the current status of bilateral relations between the two countries and explored ways to further strengthen these relations in areas such as health, trade and investment, defence, economic cooperation, training and capacity building, among others."

Discussions also included collaboration in multilateral fora like the UN and regional and global problems of shared interest.

Strong people-to-people contacts serve as the foundation of the friendly bilateral relations between India and Botswana. In Botswana, there are over 6000 Indians living. The amount of trade between Botswana and India is roughly US$ 806 million.
