MSME Ministry host First BRICS MSME Forum in Agra

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) host the First BRICS MSME Forum and the Third SME Working Group Meeting in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, on June 19, 2026, under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.” The event bring together policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from BRICS member and partner countries, including Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the UAE and several other nations, to discuss ways to strengthen MSME ecosystems, promote sustainability and enhance international cooperation. The forum will focus on building resilient and globally competitive MSMEs while fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration among participating countries. Discussions will also cover policy frameworks, best practices and opportunities to strengthen cross-border partnerships in support of inclusive economic development.

India’s MSME sector, comprising more than 8.6 crore enterprises, contributes over 31.1% to the country’s GDP, accounts for 35.4% of manufacturing output and contributes more than 48.58% of India’s exports, highlighting its critical role in economic growth and employment generation. The programme include an exhibition showcasing MSME excellence and deliberations on themes such as access to finance, technology adoption and sustainability-oriented growth. Government officials, industry associations and delegates from BRICS nations share policy experiences and successful case studies aimed at creating future-ready MSME ecosystems. The forum is to strengthen cooperation among BRICS countries, facilitate the exchange of ideas and identify new opportunities for MSME development, innovation and global market integration. The initiative reflects the collective commitment of BRICS nations to empowering MSMEs as key drivers of economic resilience, entrepreneurship and sustainable growth.
