National e-Governance Division organised the State Capacity Building Workshop under the Digital India programme

On October 19-20, 2023, over 42 officials from 13 state departments—including the Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare, the State Goods and Service Tax, the Department of Rural Development, the Department of Dairy Development, the Police Department, and the State Digital Health Mission—are attending a workshop in Kerala on Artificial Intelligence for Digital Transformation. The goal of the two-day intensive workshop is to prepare the IT team working for different State Departments to continue adopting and implementing cutting-edge technology initiatives in the State.
The National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, in association with their knowledge partners, is offering State Capacity Building Workshops as part of their Capacity Building Scheme.
These workshops seek to demystify the potential of emerging technologies to enhance the delivery of services and to explain how to adapt policies and strategies to new digital environments.
Ms. Nima Arora, Director, KSITM, emphasised that this workshop could significantly alter the way in which officers operate on a daily basis. It will also help government officials determine which of these cutting-edge technologies will best support the implementation of the requirements they have for their departments.
Numerous subject matter experts from the government and business sectors have come together for the event to participate in interactive sessions on State problem areas, real-world use cases, tool demonstrations, and a vision for transforming ideas into pilot projects, proof of concepts, or projects.
These unique workshops, which were introduced in August 2023, are made possible by the collaboration between the government and an industry consortium. This allows the government to better use emerging technology to enhance public service delivery, strengthen governance, and enable better-informed decision-making. Cloud computing and data-driven decision-making for government are the topics of the next workshops in Kerala.
