Nearly 159,000 people recruited for govt jobs during Covid pandemic: Centre

During the two years of the coronavirus pandemic, about 1.59 lakh people were recruited for government jobs. Out of which, 8,913 people were recruited by the the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), 97,914 by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and 52,788 by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) during 2020-22 covid-19 pandemic period.

Recruitment in central government is a continuous process. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) have been conducting their examinations duly complying with all COVID-19 safety protocols, said Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space.
