NIELIT and Intel India Organized National Leadership Dialogue and Launched Agentic AI Skilling Programs for Preparing India’s Workforce for the Agentic AI Era

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with Intel India, organised a National Leadership Dialogue on “Preparing the Future Workforce for the Agentic AI Era” in New Delhi and launched an Agentic AI skilling initiative for youth across the country. The dialogue brought together representatives from Government, foreign embassies, academia, industry and the skilling ecosystem to deliberate on the evolving Artificial Intelligence landscape and its implications for education, employment and workforce development. Discussions focused on emerging skill requirements, industry-aligned curricula, experiential learning, faculty readiness, AI-enabled learning environments and stronger Government–academia–industry collaboration. Mr. Shashi Shekhar Vempati, Chairperson, Central Board of Film Certification, highlighted the importance of skills, employability and continuous learning as technology transforms the nature of work, while Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi, Director General, NIELIT, emphasised the need to equip learners and educators with capabilities for the next phase of technological transformation.

A key outcome of the dialogue was the launch of the NIELIT–Intel India Agentic AI Skilling Initiative, aimed at expanding access to practical, industry-aligned Agentic AI learning opportunities and strengthening India’s AI talent ecosystem. The initiative introduces two programmes, Agentic AI for Everyone, covering workflow automation, AI agents and multi-agent systems through hands-on learning using no-code platforms, and Engineering Agentic AI Systems, focused on designing, building and deploying AI-powered agentic systems using no-code, low-code and code-based frameworks. The programmes cover areas such as agent architecture, tool integration, orchestration, memory and deployment, enabling learners to develop scalable and production-ready solutions. Mr. Sudeep Shrivastava, COO, IndiaAI Mission and Joint Secretary, MeitY, highlighted the importance of building a strong AI talent pipeline, while Ms. Shweta Khurana, Senior Director, Asia Pacific & Japan, International Government Affairs, Intel, emphasised AI skills, adaptability and human readiness. The collaboration is expected to expand access to future-ready Agentic AI learning across institutions and learners, supporting India’s AI-led growth and technological capabilities.
