Nine of top-10 firms add Rs. 90,319 crore (US$ 10.96 billion) in market valuation; RIL leads pack

Reliance Industries emerged as the largest winner, with nine of the top ten domestic companies together adding Rs. 90,318.74 crore (US$ 10.96 billion) in market valuation last week amid a bullish trend in equities.

The benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex increased 652.7 points or 1.10% last week.

On Monday, markets held a unique one-hour Muhurat trading session to commemorate the start of the Hindu Samvat year 2079. On Wednesday, stock markets were closed in observance of "Diwali Balipratipada."

With the exception of Hindustan Unilever, the market valuation of the remaining nine firms increased, including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Infosys, and State Bank of India (SBI).

According to market capitalization, Reliance Industries continued to be the most valuable company, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, SBI, Airtel, HDFC, and ITC.
