As per a report in The Economic Times, nine states of India are estimated to have a growth rate higher than the 10.5% forecast in 2023-24. These nine states predict an average nominal gross domestic product (GDP) increase of 14% for the entire nation in FY24.
The data from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) indicate that Uttar Pradesh is expected to be the best performer in the upcoming year, with a projected nominal GDP growth of 19.1% compared to 6.9% real growth in FY23.
In addition, Assam's economy is anticipated to grow by 15% in the upcoming fiscal year, while Tamil Nadu's economy is anticipated to expand by 14%. On the other hand, Punjab anticipates a change towards growth in the upcoming year, while Jharkhand anticipates maintaining its development.
