The two-day Black Swan Summit India 2026 has begun in Bhubaneswar as the Odisha Government launches it under the BharatNetra initiative, with the goal of making the state a global destination for AI, FinTech, and InsurTech. For the first time in India, the summit drew more than 1,700 delegates from 24 countries and close to 100 speakers from five continents, marking its international appeal and significance. The opening day activities covered skill development and employment, including a job fair that opened up opportunities for the youth of the state, while the technical sessions covered digital finance and emerging technologies. President of India Ms. Droupadi Murmu and Odisha Chief Minister Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi were scheduled to attend, marking strong support at the highest level for the growth agenda of Odisha. The event brought together global and national policymakers, regulators, tech visionaries, startups, investors, and academics, with a focus on delivering outcomes rather than just policy discussions.
The engagement of Odisha in the global digital economy is part of a larger strategy to convert innovation into tangible economic value, such as the creation of jobs, entrepreneurship, and competitiveness. The summit further cements the role of the state as a force for technology-driven growth in the framework of Vision 2036-2047, with the aim of shifting focus from mere technology adoption to the development of practical AI and digital finance solutions. By positioning itself as a trustworthy destination for global capability centres and digital infrastructure investments, Odisha aims to contribute significantly to the next wave of the digital-first economy and inclusive development in India.
