Ola Scooter to launch in India on August 15

Mr. Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of Ola, has announced that the company's first electric vehicle, the Ola Scooter, will be available on August 15, 2021. He also stated that more information about the Ola Scooter would be released closer to the debut date. Ola's first scooter received 1 lakh reservations in less than a day after the firm began accepting reservations on July 15, 2021 for Rs. 499 (US$ 6.72). Those who have made reservations can cancel and receive a refund before the deliveries begin.

The Ola Scooter will be available in ten different colours and is estimated to have a range of 150 kilometres on a single charge. The Ola Scooter is believed to be capable of achieving a top speed of 100 kilometres per hour.

When coupled with the Ola Hypercharger network, the scooter's battery can charge up to 50% in 18 minutes and have a range of 75 kilometers, according to the company. Ola Electric claims to have >1 lakh charge stations spread across 400 cities in India.

The electric scooter is supposed to have a spacious trunk, keyless entry through an app, and a segment-leading range. Dual projector headlamps, a single-piece seat, an external charging outlet, LED DRLs, and taillights, a black coloured floor mat, and a fully digital instrument cluster will all be included.

The company hasn't provided any pricing information for the Ola Scooter, but additional information is expected during the launch event on August 15, 2021.
