One District One Product (ODOP) has been approved for 713 districts in 35 States and UTs out of the total 766 districts spread across 36 States and UTs as part of the centrally sponsored Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme run by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI). On the advice of the States/UTs, the Ministry has approved the ODOPs.

Under the PMFME Scheme, MoFPI has authorised 76 incubation centres across the nation with a total investment of US$ 24.9 million (Rs. 205.95 crores) to support current and potential entrepreneurs in the creation of new and innovative products, among other things, at all stages of the value chain.

The PMFME Scheme offers financial, technical, and business support for the establishment or upgrade of micro food processing businesses in the nation, which among other things opens up the possibility of local job opportunities for young people.
