Over $7 billion raised by Indian start-ups in Q4 2021, says report

Indian start-ups have raised US$ 7.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021; this was 18% greater than the prior sequential quarter. A total of 14 new unicorns were added to the start-up ecosystem in the fourth quarter of 2021. India has seen a strong acceleration in the case of its startup ecosystem with respect to both the volume and the multiplicity of start-ups in the calendar 2021. 

India’s fintech space has also seen a lot of traction among global investors. A report of NASSCOM and Praxis Global said that India’s fintech and retail tech were the top sectors in the fourth quarter of the calendar year 2021 with almost 46% of the total funding. The report also said that 6 out of 14 new unicorns in quarter four of the calendar year 2021 were from the retail and the fintech sector.
