In New Delhi, the government informed Parliament this week that under the Ayushman Bhav campaign, more than 9.9 lakh health and wellness melas have been conducted at health centres since September 17, recording a total footfall of 705.69 lakh. Among the participants, 468.81 lakh individuals received complimentary drugs, and 372.61 lakh availed themselves of free diagnostic services. The cumulative number of screenings across seven categories reached 1377.06 lakh. Additionally, medical colleges regularly organise weekly health melas at community health centres.
Launched by the President on September 13, the Ayushman Bhav campaign aims to cover selected healthcare services comprehensively in every village and town. This initiative aligns with the Prime Minister's commitment to ensuring healthcare accessibility at the grassroots level, reaching every individual in society.
The campaign encompasses a series of strategic interventions, with 'Ayushman - Apke Dwar 3.0' specifically focusing on achieving Ayushman card saturation at the individual level. This involves the meticulous printing and distributing of Ayushman cards at the field level. The campaign collaborates with the health, Panchayati Raj, and rural development departments for effective implementation. Seeking the active support of ASHA workers, frontline workers, and self-help groups is integral to the campaign's success. The multi-faceted collaboration underscores a holistic approach towards achieving widespread healthcare accessibility and coverage.
