Over one Million Resources Hired Through Government e-Marketplace (GeM) in FY25

The Government e-Marketplace (GeM), a digital procurement platform, has reached a significant milestone by facilitating the hiring of over one million manpower resources by government organisations in FY25. This achievement highlights GeM's commitment to enhancing public procurement through transparency, compliance, and efficiency. The platform enables seamless manpower outsourcing, allowing government buyers to engage resources across various skilled and unskilled roles, including security personnel, horticulture staff, multi-tasking staff, data entry operators, and facility management professionals. With over 33,000 service providers onboarded, GeM offers hiring solutions based on diverse criteria, such as minimum wages and fixed remuneration.

GeM CEO Mr. Ajay Bhadoo, stated, “GeM has harnessed digital capabilities to become a one-stop procurement platform for government buyers at all administrative levels. Our manpower outsourcing service simplifies hiring while ensuring strict labour compliance through a comprehensive Service Level Agreement (SLA).” Key features of the service include flexibility in resource selection, specialised role categories, transparent pricing models, and legal compliance. Established in 2016, GeM initially offered basic services such as manpower hiring, cab services, security services, and cleaning & sanitation. Over the last five years, the platform has expanded to include over 330 services, including advanced solutions like drone services, augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) services, cloud services, and cybersecurity services. The milestone of one million manpower hires in FY25 underscores the growing trust in GeM across government sectors.
