OYO completes acquisition of Europe-based Direct Booker for $5.5 mn

OYO, a travel and hospitality platform, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Europe based company Direct Booker for US$ 5.5 million. Direct Booker, a market-leading operator in the vacation home management segment in Dubrovnik, Croatia, was founded by Nikola Grubelic and Nino Dubretic in 2010. So far, the organisation has over 3,200 million homes and serviced 2 million customers.

OYO in the recent past has declared its intention to actively seek for 'tuck-in' acquisitions as a strategic growth lever, particularly in the European market. OYO already has a significant presence in countries such as the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Germany and Austria.

OYO already owns and operates brands, such as Belvilla (Belvilla by OYO), DanCenter, Traum Ferienwohnungen among others in Europe. This acquisition will strengthen OYO’s presence in Europe broadly and Croatia specifically where it already has nearly 1,800 vacation homes.

OYO is the third most downloaded travel app in the world, with presence in over 35 countries.  With the acquisition of Direct Booker, the Dubrovnik-headquartered company will now become a part of the OYO platform with a presence across Europe.
