The purchase of over 702 LMT (lakh metric tonnes) of paddy up until February 20, 2022, is making headway in the procurement of paddy for the Season 2022–2023 (Kharif crop).
The ongoing KMS procurement operations have already benefited over 96 lakh farmers, with an MSP (Minimum Support Price) outflow of Rs. 1,45,845 crores and a transfer of payment directly into farmers' accounts.
Up until February 20, 2023, the Central Pool will deliver 218 LMT of rice against the purchased paddy. The Central Pool currently has enough rice storage to suit the needs of the entire nation.
According to estimates, 765.43 LMT of paddy and 514 LMT of rice will be purchased during the current KMS 2022–23's Kharif crop, compared to 749 LMT of paddy and 503 LMT of rice purchased during the previous KMS 2021–22. (Kharif Crop).
