Passenger vehicle dispatches rise 19% in June as chip supply improves: SIAM

According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), passenger vehicle wholesales in India increased by 19% YoY in June as a result of better semiconductor supply. Sales across all segments rose to 1,611,300 units in June 2022 from 1,301,602 units in the same month last year.

Deployments of passenger vehicles (PVs) to dealers increased from 231,633 units in June 2021 to 275,788 units in June 2022. Total sales of two-wheelers rose to 1,308,764 units in June 2022 from 1,060,565 units in the same month last year. There were 26,701 three-wheeler units sold last month, compared to 9,404 in June 2021.

Total sales across all segments rose to 4,935,870 units in April-June 2022, compared to 3,190,202 units in the same period last year.
