Passenger vehicle retail sales increase 24 pc in December: FADA

On Monday, the automobile dealer body FADA announced that retail sales of passenger vehicles (PV) in December recorded a year-on-year growth of 23.99% to 2,71,249 units.

According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), which recorded vehicle registration data from 1,270 out of the 1,477 regional transport offices (RTOs), PV sales amounted at 2,18,775 units in December 2019.

Two-wheeler sales reached 14,24,620 units in December 2020; a 11.88% y-o-y increase compared to 12,73,318 units in December 2019.

Tractor sales increased by 35.49% to 69,105 units in December 2020, compared to 51,004 units in 2019.

Compared to 16,61,245 units in December 2019, overall sales across categories improved 11.01% to reach 18,44,143 units in December 2020.
