Minister of Railways, Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution, Mr. Piyush Goyal stated, “New India is progressing forward with a New Energy, and that Private Equity and Venture Capitalists are our partners in this New Journey to a New Horizon.”
Addressing the ‘Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Annual Conclave 2021’, he said, “We are delighted to collaborate in the true spirit of partnership in order for shareholders, start-ups, and venture capital funds to enjoy working in India.”
He stated that we can change the destiny of the country if we change the mindset of people. The Minister urged all investors to follow the letter and spirit of the law.
Foreign investors are vital for start-up funding and are welcomed in the country. Domestic investors could be able to penetrate much deeper into the region and smaller towns and cities, where there is a significant amount of innovation and possibilities waiting to be acknowledged. Domestic investors looking for good start-up suggestions can even instill confidence and comfort in foreign investors.
Mr. Goyal said, “The Prime Minister is emphatic that the start-up ecosystem exhibits the strength, ability, and agility to move things forward. The government is keen to expand the start-up ecosystem and is open to new ideas. Recognizing the strength of the start-up ecosystem, the government prioritizes start-ups by exempting them from various taxes and providing support through sourcing.”
Encouraging investors to take advantage of India's ‘3D advantage’: Demand, Democracy, and Demographic dividend, he stated that by working together, we can benefit the wider community who are seeking for a better standard of living.
He added, “When it comes to INDIA, the IN stands for Innovation. DI stands for Disruption. Asia is represented by the letter A. We are Asia's innovators and disruptors, and we can describe progress and prosperity for the society. Today, New India is progressing with more enthusiasm and thrill about the future. We can see a great future ahead of us, with a billion people aspiring for a better standard of living, and this creates opportunities to consider creative solutions to day-to-day challenges.”
