PhonePe launches ‘RuPay On-The-Go’ Card to simplify commuter payments across India

Digital payments platform PhonePe has launched the ‘RuPay On-The-Go’ card, a contactless payment solution designed to simplify transit payments for commuters across India. The new card enables users to make quick and seamless payments at public transport systems such as metro services, buses, and other transit networks, reducing reliance on cash payments and physical ticket purchases. The RuPay-based solution provides users with fast tap-and-pay transaction capabilities through its connection to India's digital payments system. The initiative reflects the growing adoption of contactless payment technologies in India’s urban transport systems and supports the country’s broader push towards digital financial inclusion.
The RuPay On-The-Go card enables instant payment verification, which allows faster passenger movement through transport entry and exit points.
