Piyush Goyal to lead Indian delegation at World Economic Forum, Davos

From May 22 to 26, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles Mr. Piyush Goyal will lead the Indian delegation to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.  Minister of Health and Family welfare, Chemicals and Fertilisers Mr. Mansukhlal Mandaviya, and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Housing and Urban affairs Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, will lead the Indian delegation. Along with senior officials, the team will include chief ministers and senior ministers from six states: Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana.

Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises Mr. Sunil Mittal, Chairman of Reliance Industries Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman And Founder of Adani Group Mr. Gautam Adani and the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group Mr. Kumarmangalam Birla will be among the industry leaders who will participate in the WEF. Policy and ease of doing business reforms, energy transition, digital economy, opportunities in the National Monetisation Pipeline, India as an entrepreneurial destination shaping the unicorn story, growing talents in the digital space, and an emphasis on innovation and research in the healthcare ecosystem will be among the key topics covered during the sessions.

The four-day event is expected to draw 2,500 delegates, including more than 50 heads of state. Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles Mr. Piyush Goyal will also visit the United Kingdom on May 26 and 27 to engage with British government officials and businesses on the status of free trade agreement negotiations and the next steps.
