PM Gati Shakti to play big role in development of modern infra: PM

According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the PM Gati Shakti programme will aid in the development of modern infrastructure in the country through greater coordination and monitoring. He said this while addressing a stakeholders' meeting on PM Gati Shakti hosted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
He went on to say that the government has boosted investments in a number of areas, including highways, optical fibre connectivity, and renewable energy, and that it is committed to a balanced development of the region's north-east. PM Gati Shakti will also contribute in the growth of exports and the global competitiveness of MSMEs.
He urged the corporate sector to join forces with the government and increase their investments.
Last year, the Prime Minister Gati Shakti - National Master Plan was released, with the goal of reducing departmental barriers and bringing in more connected and integrated planning and execution of projects to address multi-modal and last-mile connectivities challenges.
