Mr. Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, stated that the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan has the potential to save more than Rs. 10 lakh crores (US$ 120.98 billion) per year by enhancing logistical efficiency. He was speaking today in New Delhi at the National Workshop on PM GatiShakti, which was organised to commemorate the first anniversary of the implementation of the National Master Plan. The session focused on PM GatiShakti's accomplishments and achievements to date, as well as the road forward.
The Minister expressed optimism that PM GatiShakti will contribute to the country's balanced, inclusive, and equitable development by assisting distant communities, particularly those in the North East, in undertaking integrated infrastructure planning and closing development gaps.
The Minister mentioned the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for the North East Region (PM-DevINE) project, which was announced yesterday, and stated that incorporating PM GatiShakti into the scheme will allow resources to be used much more efficiently. Mr. Goyal stated that the entire administration was working together to make the greatest use of PM GatiShakti. He went on to say that industry, business, and the social sector have all welcomed PM Gati with open arms.
